cna insurance

CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA) is a financial corporation based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and noted for its 600 foot tall red headquarters building there. Its principal subsidiary, Continental Casualty Company (CCC) was founded in 1897. CNA celebrated its centennial in 1997. CNA (the parent company) was incorporated in 1967.

Continental Assurance Company of North America was founded in Detroit in 1897. The purpose of the company was to provide accident and health insurance to railroad industry employees. This company then merged with the Metropolitan Accident Company, changed its name to the Continental Casualty Company, and moved to Chicago.

The National Fire Insurance Company was acquired in 1956, and in the 1963 the American Casualty Company was acquired. The first letters of each of the original companies were merged to form the acronym CNA. It was then referred to as the Continental National American Group, now it simply goes by CNA.

On January 1, 2004, CNA sold its Group Benefits division to The Hartford, based in Hartford, Connecticut. The Hartford merged its new purchase with its own Group Benefits Division. With the sale of this division came the end of CNA's long history as a multi line insurer.

The primary business focus of CNA is to provide commercial property and casualty insurance to businesses and professionals. CNA markets its products and services primarily through independent agents and brokers.

CNA itself is 89% owned by a holding company, Loews. This holding company also has interests in, offshore oil and gas drilling rigs, natural gas transmission pipelines, tobacco, and in hotel operations.

costume_82 asked: "What is the minimum and maximum hourly rate for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in California? How can I get the highest wage possible? Do CNAs get health care insurance? Thanks."
Question posted courtesy of:
Robert W replied: "Wages and benefit packages vary from place to place and town to town. You're not going to be paid the same in a big city as a small town. The best thing to do is to check out local nursing homes and hospitals to see what they pay and offer in the way of benefits. Typically, temp agency CNAs make more money, but don't get heath insurance."
CINDYLOU asked: "i got hurt at work !cant get help any where i talk to 9 different lawyers no one will stand up to private insurance one lawyer even told me he would be better off giving me 500.$ im hurt losing everything i worked so hard for its truely a cold uncaring world when you are down im a cna in nursing home now hurt cant even get un employmentMY WORK HAS PRIVATE INSURANCE THE TCW STATES THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO CAUSE ITS PRIVATE INSURANCE"

Sway_27 replied: "Not enough details to help you out, sorry"
justagrandma replied: "Speak to your state insurance board, were you covered by Workman's comp? Check it since an employer can tell you you aren't covered but you really are.As to how they do it....this is the reality behind all those people who rant about trial lawyers 'getting' the insurance companies. Insurance companies are running and ruining this country. They are the biggest financial supporters for both parties.Look into getting disability from social security, also contact your social services department they can tell you where to go to get some help in living until the disability comes through, don't delay, these things can take months."
the liberal replied: "With the Capitalist society we have now, giving corporations exactly what they want instead of what we want, they can probably do that. It's wrong as hell, but that's what happens when corporations have free reign. This is another reason I'm for Universal Health Care. With that, you can get the help you need when you need it. You don't have to pre-approve anything. You barely have to pay anything. All you do is pay your taxes.UHC is better than the crap work of Capitalism we have now..."
aelover77t asked: "Right now I am a single mom and a cashier. Both of my kids are on medicaid bc we are low income. Within the next month I will be starting a new job as a CNA and will no longer be eligible. I cannot get my companies insurance until after 90 days. any suggestions on what to do 4 my kids in the 90 days, and how much does insurance normally run. We are all healthy no health problems in the past and non smokers children ages 15 months and 2 months. Thank u!"

mbrcatz17 replied: "Check out your state's CHIPS program for your kids. Low cost or no cost, and you'll qualify RIGHT NOW, and you only have to re-qualify every six months. So that will buy you the time you need to be on your new employer's program, at least for your kids. Just do a yahoo search "chips Idaho" or whatever your state is. It stands for Children's Health Insurance Plan.OH, and to answer the question . . .if you go private insurance, for each kid it's going to run you about $150 a month."
passport2 replied: "see here. "
mr_and_mrs.x asked: "i am training to be a cna, i know that i will work in some kind of hospital or nursing home. I have a friend that works for only a few people a week, she works for them personally. I asked her if she is employed through a service, she told me that she anwsered personal adds from the paper. She says its a lot better than a nursing home or hospital. She says it doesn't pay as much, but she gets to know her clients a lot better. She says its a lot better for her and her schedule. Don't you have to have some kind of insurance or work under a nurse when you work for personal clients? Personal clients to me are people that pay out of their own pocket for services, instead of having a health service find someone to take care of them or their loved ones."
Question posted courtesy of:
Mopar Muscle Gal replied: "I was a private duty nurse ( clinical case manager) I was paid a lot more than a hospital would payBUT there is No health care insurance, no pension, no vacation pay you as a CENA will work according to the case managers and MD's rules yes, the client pays out of their own pocket"
tara b replied: "Here is the issue. If you get that CNA and want to maintain it, you a HAVE to have a certain number of hours in a facility to keep the certification. I have done home health. I Hated it!!! The hours are uncertain. The family might be in town and you will be out of a job until they leave, the person might get sick and need to go into a hospital or nursing home. you do not have to carry insurance, nor would you be able to afford it most likely and no, you do not have to work under a nurse"
