Malignant mesothelioma
is a rare type of cancer in which malignant cells are found in the sac lining the chest or abdomen. Exposure to airborne asbestos particles increases one's risk of developing malignant mesothelioma.

"I looked this up and it said the average life span is one year but, I couldn't find anything on the length of each stage. I'm sorry you even have to ask this question."

"it all depends, generally, just like other cancers, the further the stage, the less the life expectancy. My father had it, and battled for 18 months, they were a little unclear as to his exact stage, but it had traveled to on of his lymph nodes. However, I know of people who were diagnosed over five years ago and still fighting the good fight. There is a great support group at acor.org on the email lists."

"My dad and uncle both had it. My dad made it about 2 3/4 years, and my uncle made it 9 months. I'm not sure what the different lengths of the stages were, but it is a very aggressive form of cancer."

"Just found out that not all asbestosis is cancerus. I can't find anything on non-cancerus mesothelial hyperplasia of the lungs. All my rearches turn up malignant mesothelioma. Whats up????Whats the treatment? Is there treatment? My MD refused to talk to me about it. I only found out by reading my lung biopsy pathology report. My specialist quit me before I could ask for treatment. Go figure? "At least do no harm"? rightPlease don't tell me to ask a MD. That is like Duuuu!! Keep in mind I live in USA, not Canada, so finding a specialist in this field who is about helping vs ego & statis is VERY difficult. And I'm also working class & a person of color , so finding a specialist who will even glance my way is like finding a needle in a haystack."

"The above answer should be the best answer. But, in conjunction, you need a food that transforms your body into a more alkiline state. something like dark green vegitables. Cancer is found in the acidic tissue, where dead cells do not necessarily die, but become abnormal and irregular. This promotes the chances of cancer cells becoming less dormant and becoming abnormal. The less of an acid producing body you have, the less chance of cancer forming. The same is thought if you already have cancer. kemo is not always enough, but consuming foods that leave your body with a more base pH, the better your chances of preventing your cancer from spreading to another area and growing. Also, habbits that get your body producing alkine, such as colder showers instead of warm ones. Anything that gets your nerves jolting will cause your body to raise its pH level. A long time ago, Dr. Otto Warburg won a nobel peace prize for proving that cancer is anaerobic; meaning they thrive only in a low-oxygen state. "Mesothelioma Is caused by inhaling asbestos fibers.These fibers under a microcope will show barbs similar to a fishook. there is no way to remove them or to correct the condition.I feel terrible having to say this to you, but all you can do is to stay close to her and tell her every day how much you love and appreciate her.I worked in asbestos abatement for years, and through that training I learned what I do know about the condition. I'm certainly not a doctor.I lost my Mother to cancer two years ago. I'm 54 and my life has changed forever. Nothing in this world can fill that hole in my heart.I will pray for you, your Mother and all your family and Friends. I don't know you religious affiliation but a lot of my heritage is american Indian But I believe that our creator is one and the same.I wish the best possible for all your family especially your Mother.
