"I gave my daughter a drug test and it came back positive for marijiuana. If i do another drug test in a week it will still be positive so how do I know that she isn't continuing to use drugs? Is there some drug test you can give that will let you know if she has continued to use???"

"Your doctor will need to order quantitative tests. The one you are administering is qualitative, so you are correct in the assumption that it will be positive again. It could take up to 2 months for a negative reading, assuming she stops."

"well, are you testing for only positive and negative or are you testing micrograms per million? if the micrograms are lower then she isn't using, if higher or about the same then she is."

"That is fuct that you administer such a test. As a teenager, I would have always passed such a test, but would nevertheless resent the lack of trust or communication indicative of the very act of the test. Chances are, your kid will just switch to something a test won't detect. Mushrooms and XTC come to mind. Cocaine leaves the system quickly and if a test is not administered within a couple days, it won't show up. Educate, don't use scare tactics."

"Wait another month, or get a hair sample. They can test the amount of THC on a long strand of hair to see when and how much she had smoked on the different points on her hair. But calm down poppa, it's not like she's doing coke or something, weed isnt addicting, and to be honest, it's pretty much a faze that every teenager goes through, it's part of your youth now a days. What you should be testing her for is other drugs. That's somehthing to be concerned about."

"Just like any other job upon hire. If they have a random testing you agree too when hired. DOT has to have a reason to preform a drug test when your on the road accident or field sobrity test. You have the same rights as anyone else except your Blood alcohol content can not be over .04"

"drug tests are random....they can test you anytime, and of couse in an accident situation they have to...It can be anytime, so i would stay clean or stay away, because once you come up positive on a random drug test that follows you forever, and makes it hard to get a job."

"Yes, DOT can demand a test whenever, or in an accident situation you can pretty much count on it. Random testing is at the whim of the employer, but you can usually count on it for once a month - often enough to pick up residues, which can stay in your system for up to six weeks."

On the drug testing sheet is lists the termination date for testing, but the date is not fiilled in. Can the PO change testing to once a month, and terminate testing after so many months?"

"Unless the drug testing end date was a part of the judge's sentence, the PO has full discretionary powers in this and can drug test you for as long as you are on probation."

"Testing for drugs are a PO's number one tool in supervision. PO's can't see what you are doing 24/7. I test my perps like crazy. Or those who are suspected in using. We don't want to catch anyone. It just part of supervision. All it takes is one call from a family member, neighbor or another perp to trigger increased urines. When an officer arrest 1 person, that person really spills the beans on others. Sometimes just to reduce his/her own trouble. The best thing to do is finish all your special conditions like day reporting, programming, community service, etc. This will "reduce your risk". Soon you will be down to monthly reporting and coasting thru supervsion waiting for an early termination."

"I don't want to hire an attorney to draft the whole thing. I rather find a good drug testing policy template and then give the attorney to review it. That way it will be quicker (and I bet 90% cheaper). Any ideas where I can find a template corporate drug testing policy. Something reliable. I would not mind paying a little for a good template to start. I just can not pay $4-5k for the whole thing, we are small company."

"There are no regulations on drug testing nor any privacy issues. Offer your employees the chance to keep their jobs by paying $70 for the test which you can perform yourself by buying the kit at Walmart for just under $10 and with the balance of the funds set up a video camera in the bathroom. Some of the drug testing facilities in the larger cities take bribes lately."
