Margaret D asked: "I am aware of several discount travel membership clubs such as GRN and Cruise To Cash. I am looking for the names of other actual travel club memberships that are available online to compare these to. Any suggestions? I already belong to and love it plus I belong to, Cruise to Cash which I joined to save money on travel and eventually possibly develop this into a business. If you are a member of either and have thoughts on these, I would appreciate your comments. Thanks!"

Please let me know from your experience which is best, even if it is among the 3 that I just mentioned. But I'm really looking for one of those sites or companies that people rarely know about (if it exists). Thanks!"

bigwavehunter replied: "depending where you are flying from, try cheap tickets. If you are flying from an airpoort where hawaiian air flys from, they are pretty good."
aatcheaptravel replied: "Why Go: Trip Ideas Honolulu, HI: Good Vibrations The beaches and streets of Waikiki are alive with surf, shopping and the contagious spirit of Aloha. First, some packing advice: throw your swimsuit in last, so it's on top when you rip into your suitcase upon arrival. When you see the island's beaches from the plane, you won't want to waste any time indoors once you land. What you can't see from the plane is the friendliness of the Hawaiian people. That's Aloha, and it is the defining spirit of the Hawaiian islands, one that you'll encounter at every turn of your adventure here. Hit the happening scene on Waikiki Beach. You can body surf here, but the real fun comes with renting boards and taking surf lessons on Waikiki's forgiving waves. After an exhausting morning playing in the Pacific, a fish taco lunch at Duke's Canoe Club is the perfect way to revive. Snag a shaved ice to explore the shops in the International Marketplace, including the Quicksilver/Roxy flagship surf gear store, and vendor carts hawking pearls, beads and tee's. Visit funky Japanese vintage shops en route to sumptuous Asian cuisine at Keo's open-air eatery or some innovative sushi at Sansei. Recommendations & Suggestions:Aloha Tower Marketplace Honolulu Harbor Phone: 808.528.5700 This waterfront marketplace in Honolulu flaunts sunset ocean views, Hawaiian entertainment, first-rate cuisine and superb shopping all under one roof in the historic Honolulu Harbor. This lively spot is a favorite of visitors and locals alike, and sits in the shadow of Aloha Tower, a welcoming beacon for ships entering the harbor that has stood since 1926. There is an observation deck at the tower open to visitors as well. Diamond Head Volcano Diamond Head Road Between Makapu'`u and 18th Aves. Diamond Head Volcano was formed by eruptions 100,000 years ago and is a National Natural Landmark. The extinct volcano is great for hiking and picnicing on the meadows of the crater floor. You'll get fantastic views of the city from here, all the while feeling completely removed from Honolulu's hustle and bustle. The Park gate is open daily from 6am-6pm. Duke's Canoe Club Waikiki 2335 Kalakaua Avenue Phone: 808.922.2268 Duke's Canoe Club Waikiki is a fun, Hawaiian seafooder named after surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. Located on the oceanfront property of Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, on the site of the original Outrigger Canoe Club, overlooking the spot where Duke rode the biggest wave of his life, this restaurant and attached Barefoot Bar are popular spots for locals and visitors alike. Try the Poki Rolls, seared ahi and Maui onions wrapped in oriental rice paper or the mahi mahi baked in lemon garlic and sweet basil sauce. Whatever your entree of choice, don't skip out on Duke's famous Hula Pie. Say Aloha to an Oreo cookie crust, a vanilla and macadamia nut center and a chocolate shell topped with whipped cream and shaven macadamia nuts. International Market Place 2330 Kalakaua Avenue Phone: 808.923.1811 A huge 100-year-old banyan tree, which sits in the middle of this colorful open-air shopping area, marks the history and fame of the International Market Place in Waikiki. Since 1956, the International Market Place has been a popular place to shop for fun, somewhat touristy items. The Market Place is the perfect place to pick up Hawaiian souvenirs like aloha shirts, fresh-water pearls (which you can take home in an oyster preserved in a can!), wood carvings, Hawaiian gold, kites and tapestries. The vibrant spirit of the Market Place, often enhanced by live Hawaiian music, infuses visitors with the "aloha spirit" and encourages them to stay, browse and have a good time. Bargaining is accepted at the Market Place so flex your bargaining muscles and that hand-carved, miniature ukulele can be yours at a great price! Email me for more questions:"

aRonin asked: "I am traveling with my family to Italy from May 24th to May 29th. We plan to cover Rome, Florence and Venice. Hence our travel will include Tram/Metro travel within these cities as well as intercity train travel between Rome - Florence and Florence - Venice. Are there any travel/discount passes available that I should buy, which can make my travel cheaper? Or should I just buy tickets individually everytime I travel."
Question posted courtesy of:
Gismo replied: "Yes Train is the best way to go."
monorailgold replied: "Hello,You should buy point to point tickets when you get to Italy. They have a great train network between cities and most have either a metro or bus system within the city. The only exception to this is Venice. No auto traffic at all except on the canals. As for the specific tickets- go to trenitalia.it/en/index.html. Here you can enter in your cities and the time to see which trains are available. From there you can choose your train and then your rate. You should check the amica rate as well as the familia rate to see which is better. For example- the familia 20% rate for 2 adults and 2 children is 94 euros, the amica rate for same group is 87 euros. This is on a euro star train which is one of the fast ones. You can pick up all your tickets the first day you are in Italy to qualify for the discounts. If you wait until day of travel the rate goes to about 108 per group. Just go to a train station and use the kiosks to buy the tickets or go to any travel agency in Italy- they don't mark up the prices. They will help you if you need it.Donna"
conley39 replied: "There is no pass that's good for local public transportation in all the cities. In Rome, you can get a Roma Pass: which includes discounts to the attractions as well as transportation. You can also get day passes or multiple day passes just for the transportation. It's also possible to walk to the tourist attractions, but some of them are quite a distance. In Florence, you won't need a pass for transportation. The historic area is quite compact and easily walked. Some of the area is pedestrian only anyway.Venice doesn't have trams or a metro, but they do have the water buses (vaporettos). You can get a giornoliero (day ticket) or passes of multiple days. However, Venice is another city where walking is possible unless you want to go to one of the other islands like Burano or Murano.. There's also a Venice Card:On the trains, you will not qualify for some the discount fares unless you're a resident of Italy. You can get the Amica fare on trains where it's available (Eurostar, intercity trains). However, there are limited seats at this fare on any given train. For travel between cities, you should also look at the trenitalia promotions to see what's available:,You would have to do a lot of travel within Italy to make something like the Eurail passes a bargain compared to point-to-point tickets. You need to be aware that even with the Eurail pass there will be an additional supplement for some trains - particularly the Eurostars, night trains, and many intercity trains.I've lived in Italy for several years and travel by train frequently."
Katelynn L asked: "I am looking to move to Florida (from NY). I will need to take a few trips there to do interviews, etc. and I will then be travelling back a few times a year or more once I live there, to visit family. There are all sorts of rewards programs, and credit cards with different airlines, etc. Which is the best deal? Should I sign up for more than one? From NY I will fly from Albany area, once in Florida it will be Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale or Orlando area."

smartie replied: "Continental is the best one I think.....it is a good airline and you can also use AIr France and Delta and a few others. You can get a chase credit card and earn yet more miles...and you can get miles for staying at Marriotts and others hotels...and you can get miles for buying at their associated online retailers....like amazon - good ones....they send you lots of perks and you also get 500 miles when you use continental.com to buy your ticket......SOuthwest is good also but continental goes more places - like international. I have both but only use SW when I cant use Continental. Check out continental.com - it is called One Pass -"
Mr. T's Pretty Cuzzin replied: "Depends which airport(s) you'll be flying from, and to, but Delta or JetBlue if from JFK. Try to stick with one airline to build up your frequent flyer account, and consider signing up for a mileage credit card through the airline. This will help you to earn free flights faster. Which cities?-------- updatedOk, from Albany. The only nonstop flight is Southwest to Orlando and Tampa, and on that basis, I'm going to recommend them. All others to Florida from Albany must connect somewhere, and if you're just going down for interviews, connecting is going to cause you to miss the biggest part of your day (whereas nonstop allows you at least a half day in each place to get some work done, enjoy life, save the world, etc. etc.). -- sign up for their "Ding" sale fare alerts to your email for the best fares.Southwest is not always cheapest, and they don't show up in other booking sites, so you have to check them separately, then go to to see prices with other airlines. Sometimes it might be a lot cheaper, and saving, say $100 if you connect, might be worth the extra time."
grierGRIER h replied: "Continental Airlines Business MasterCard® from Chase is the best option.
